Stories behind a handbag: Handbags as carriers not only of things, but also of stories

In our everyday life, handbags are much more than just a practical accessory. They can tell stories, reflect our personality and become bearers of memories. In this article, I want to encourage you to put not only personal belongings in your handbags, but also pieces of your stories and experiences.

When you create a handbag yourself, you have a unique opportunity to incorporate materials and elements that have special meaning to you into its design. It can be a piece of fabric from your favorite old clothes that you no longer wear for some reason, but you don't have the heart to throw it away, a souvenir from a trip, such as a piece of lace bought at a market in France, a pendant from your holiday, etc. that will remind you of sweet moments every time you open your handbag or look at it.

You can also braid a scarf that you got from your grandmother in your handbag and forever preserve the memories of your loved ones in a different way than having them locked at the bottom in a dresser drawer.

The colors and patterns you choose for your handbag can reflect your personality or an important stage in your life. For example, you can choose colors that calm you down or charge you with energy. Personal role models can be derived from your interests, such as art, nature, or even favorite books.

This approach to handbag making not only allows you to carry a piece of yourself in your daily life, but also gives each handbag a unique story to share with others. When someone admires your handbag, it's not just a compliment to your style, but also an opportunity to share its story.

Creating handbags with a personal story is also a great way to deepen your relationship with the object you use every day. In this day and age, when we are trying to be more sustainable and reduce waste, this is the approach that leads us to appreciate and take care of the things we have.

The next time you're thinking about a new handbag, consider creating your own in a few evenings. Not only can it be a fun and creative project, but it will result in something that will carry a piece of your story and heart with it.
