I have an amazing tip for you today on how to create a completely unique and original handbag that will make you shine in the crowd. I have prepared a free download of a flower pattern with a stem, which I used at the beginning of my creation for a custom handbag for a charming Italian lady.
You can download the pattern in this article and then all you have to do is let your imagination run wild. Transfer the pattern to a canvas the size of your choice and in a few evenings you will have a design gem that you will not find anywhere else.
If you haven't done any assembled project, such as a handbag, check out my video on YouTube, where I make a handbag from wool. If you still don't know what to do after watching this video and still lose the thread somewhere (literally and figuratively), don't hesitate to contact me on FCB, messenger or WhatsUp and I will advise you.
Don't be afraid to experiment with colors and materials. A handbag with a flower can be beautiful in natural tones, fresh and playful when using brightly colored canvases or romantically tender when using soft waves. There are no limits to your imagination!
So go ahead, download a flower pattern for free, prepare fabrics or wool and looping tools and create a handbag that will be an admired and unmissable accessory to your outfit.
I am really looking forward to the photos of your finished creations!
Sonja wishes you beautiful and inspiring creation
The designer handbag is with a blue flower on one side and a red flower on the other. I lined the bag with a black lining with five pockets and complemented it with a black wooden handle.

- Free looping technique
- Linear looping technology

- Building projects
- Decorating projects
LIST OF MATERIALS
- Kanava #2
- Red checkered cloth strips (ideal for recycling old tablecloth or bed linen), red and plum cotton canvas (for flower and hems, dark green canvas (for stem), shaggy yarn (ideal for upcycling old pieces of clothing and fabrics for which you no longer have a use)
- Black cotton canvas for lining
- Handle of your choice (I used black, semicircular with cross-section)
- Locking media
- Looping hook
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
- Permanent marker
MANUAL
- Choose the size of the handbag you like and cut five parts of the canvas: two equal parts for the front and back of the handbag, two equal parts for the sides and one part for the bottom of the handbag. Don't forget to add 4 rows of squares on each side to fold the canvas.
- Fold the edges of each canvas piece by folding it in the fourth row.
- Draw the pattern on the front of the handbag (if you want to have a pattern on both sides, then on both parts). If you have a pattern on both sides, you can choose whether the flower will always be in the same direction or will be mirrored on the other side :)
- Loop the flower pattern in a loose way using coloured fabric stripes.
- Loop the sides and bottom only using the linear looping technique using strips of checkered canvas.
- When all the pieces are finished, hide all the loose ends of the fabric strips and the locking yarns.
- Cut off about 50 cm piece (either colored canvas or the same checkered canvas that you used for most of the looped surfaces - it's up to you and your taste) of fabric strip, thread it into a tapestry needle and connect all sides of the handbag by sewing.
- Take the selected handles and mark on the upper edge of the canvas its location so that it is nicely in the middle.
- String again about 50 cm piece of fabric stripe and hem the upper edge of the handbag with stitching. When sewing, gradually sew the handles in this way.
- Sew a lining with pockets and sew it to the bag with the back stitch on the top edge of the handbag.
